Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:
An eventful month at TRP! In conjunction with the City of Chicago, we launched the SEIP, Shared Equity Investment Program. We are currently processing applications and have launched a marketing campaign to announce the grant with lending partners, stakeholders and clients who are in the purchase pipeline. The Housing Cooperatives team has grown and brought onboard Victor Lua, SEIP program manager who will be processing our applicants. We continued with our virtual series focused on cooperative governance. We are connecting to new groups who are interested in forming co-ops with the support of the SEIP grant and TRP’s services and have conducted client consultations in addition to compiling a directory of contacts to established co-ops to `inquire about availability of units.
What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?
We did not encounter any issues this month.
What opportunities, if any, did you take advantage of in the last reporting period?
TRP’s Lending team brought Victor Lua, SEIP Program Manager to the team. Victor will be working with the Housing Co-op team to process clients applying for SEIP. Ray Arroyo interviewed Laila Korn, from the HUB Co-op in Little Village and planned for some collaboration around capacity building and financial education. Ray also worked for clients as we started to provide direct services via consultations and info sessions. Ray had a chance to catch up with Peter Dean and Andy Reicher when they were in town to provide updates on our progress.
