Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:
We are making significant progress. We enrolled over capacity for a Training for Trainers program on permanently affordable housing cooperatives. We had 12 participants in the class (designed for 7 to 15 participants) After 3 days of training full time they present a training for Winthrop co-op. They completed their training on the fourth day with a wrap up session. We have also been making progress on contact board members of existing co-ops and have continued advertising Co-op University that will provide advance training for co-op board member and members. We are meeting with two groups in Chicago that hope to be offering Share Loans for co-op members and finally we expect to announce the final permanently affordable housing cooperative Incubator this month and plan to begin it in late January or early February and have already go several groups requesting to participate.
What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?
We are continuing to find access to co-op board member constrained by property managers and other gatekeepers. This is making it difficult to provide training for their clients. The Phase Two grantees are experiencing issues identifying properties and financing.
What opportunities, if any, did you take advantage of in the last reporting period?
We have continued to make progress reaching out to leader of existing affordable housing cooperatives. We also expect several new opportunities to come out of the recent Training for Trainers that we held.
Did you establish new CWB relationships/partnerships in the last reporting period?
Yes
Please describe the relationships you established pertaining to your CWB work.
We started to work with Winthrop Co-op through their sponsor Habitat Chicago. We led a successful training for the board and members that resulted in nearly half of the co-op's members participating. The members expressed renewed vigor for participating in their co-op and look forward to additional training opportunities and revitalizing the co-op's leadership.
Did you collaborate with other TA providers in the last reporting period?
Yes
Which TA provider(s) did you work with?
TRP, IHDA, CCLF, UIC
Please share on behalf of whom / which projects you collaborated with the TA providers above:
The Training for Trainers was designed so that the participants will be equipped to train co-op members throughout the City. While Winthrop Co-op was directly assisted we expect that the new trainers will serve co-ops for some time into the future.

Winthrop was a huge success! The training gave the co-op a chance to reboot. I’m expecting higher levels of participation from members and the board. Thank you for an awesome training. I’m grateful for the connections that were made with the other participants. I think we’re going to form our own group of trainers to help each other with cooperative training.
