Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:
Las Visioanarias - We started the new year by revisiting last years accomplishments and setting new goals for 2024. Evaluation of skills- We have seen the slow advancement in computer skills. Finance trainings are still needed to help them build on their cooperative finance understanding. We are still working on their business plan, obtaining their manager and food allergy certifications. Looking for schools. We have been speaking with Food He.ro. to provide these trainings. We were in conversations with Edgar Lucero castillo, the new student attorney with the Community Enterprise & Solidarity Economy Clinic at UIC School of Law, assigned to complete the bylaws with las Visionarias. We have scheduled two meetings in February. MADEN cleaning cooperative- We continue working on their business plan. We have scheduled a meeting with Renee Hatcher to speak about the bylaws and the new corporate law and how it would affect co-ops. Working on marketing plan and materials for their co-op. Started New Coop workshops on January 25, 2024. We have 7 people registered.
What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?
We had to change all of the meetings that we had planned in person to virtual because many of the members were sick with the flu.
What opportunities, if any, did you take advantage of in the last reporting period?
We were able to attend some workshops on taxes and other business trainings with Southland Development.
