CWB Goals

Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:

- Hosted and co-hosted 4 working group meetings, totaling 78 participants. - Met with new staff additions to grantee organizations and non-grantees who work in the ecosystem. -Met with Phase II Pre-Development grantees one-on-one to work through reporting platform as needed. - Concluded support with UHAB's Housing Incubator, and began concentrated strategy for formal knowledge transfer to Chicago entities. - Participated in and presented DAWI worker-cooperative cohort for 25 hours. - Officially launched research interviews with Phase I grantees for 'State of the Chicago Cooperative Ecosystem' final report as a CWB deliverable. - Coordinated with local worker cooperative agenda efforts for USFWC conference happening in Chicago this fall - Attended community meetings in Garfield Park and with non-grantee organizations Center for Shared Ownership, Chicago Rehab Network, and Boston's Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative - Continued public education campaign through social channels and video creation - Created three-pager informational sheet for Chicago Limited Equity Housing Cooperatives

What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?

- Approved funds are being held up by University red tape for newsletter software and an interview transcription tool - Limited pre-development funds leveraging City investments are creating hurdles for Pre-Development projects to succeed and, particularly, progress to more capital-intensive development stages - Limited access to bylaws of existing local housing cooperatives to determine who is limited equity, market rate, and naturally occurring affordable; as well as understanding who was a legacy HUD cooperative, and which have let their affordability restrictions expire
