The selection of the developer is the barrier. At the March 19 stakeholder meeting, the City representative confirmed that an announcement should be made in April about who the selected developer will be.

We have had the opportunity to work with students from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business to complete negotiation research for this project. We have also met with Obran Cooperative and Project Equity to discuss transitioning the grocery development to a worker-owned cooperative.

What constraints or limitations with internal capacity is the organizarion experiencing related to its Pre-Development Project?
Staffing is a limitation right now but with CWB support we will be able to hire help to support advocacy and project management once the developer is selected.
What opportunities, if any, did the organization take advantage of related to its Pre-Development Project?
In March, we worked on the community ownership business model and negotiation strategies for when we will engage both City representatives and the selected developer.
