Pre-Development Projects

Project Goals

What proportion of Goal 1 overall is complete at this point?

70%

What are the barriers and opportunities for completion that impacted goal 1 in the last month?

In the past month, we have been able to formally target a federal grant for $2M, including $1M for acquisition, towards our expansion of a Morgan Street Campus. Considering the size and comparative prices of the potential buildings, this means we could potentially purchase at least one of the properties outright, which shifts the need for reaching out to mortgage lenders as outlined in our work plan. We’re excited to mention we have heard back from the owner of 1712 S Morgan St., and are working on our follow-up conversation with her including further details on her property and a concrete dollar offer.

What proportion of Goal 2 overall is complete at this point?

20%

What are the barriers and opportunities for completion that you impacted goal 2 in the last month?

In addition to being in active 2 way communication with one of the owners, PIHCO has been exploring the voluntary inclusion of the potential property into a land trust to help control long term costs. Conversations have been had with staff at the Chicago Housing Trust towards this end.

What proportion of Goal 3 overall is complete at this point?

20%

What are the barriers and opportunities for completion that you impacted goal 3 in the last month?

PIHCO is working on a new info session for potential new members currently dated for July 15th.
