Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:
This month, we developed a training syllabus that outlines the learning objectives, sessions, and assignments. We also began developing the online learning course that will complement the training sessions. In addition, two of the four case studies have been drafted and a videographer has been contracted to assist us with creating at least two videos that will also be used for the case studies. Recruitment efforts started with our first email announcement that went out in the fourth week of July. The recruitment emails are being sent using Salesforce, which lets us easily track engagements with potential participants. We are working on a communication plan for the rest of the recruitment efforts which will continue into late August. If possible, we would like to request assistance that our email and flier be shared with the CWB network. We successfully convened our Advisory Committee again for a monthly meeting on July 30. The meeting goals of sharing projects updates, agreeing on a training name, and advancing the training's development. One major decision during the meeting was that the committee agreed that we should keep the name of “Early Warning Network” training for the pilot training. While there were considerations around updating the name, we ultimately agreed that “Early Warning” is familiar and recognizable by others in the field both locally and nationally. While we had already selected the training timeframes (September 18-24th for Executives Only and October 14-November 16th for all participants) we were able to solidify that there would be five synchronous sessions with three in-person and two virtual via Zoom plus a fourth in-person celebration day. While exact times and locations are to be determined as we need to confirm with potential hosts, the synchronous training dates are scheduled for: Executives only - Saturday, Sept 21 (4 hours in person) Executives only - Tuesday, Sept 24 (2 hours virtual via Zoom) Monday, Oct 14 (2 hours virtual via Zoom) Saturday, Oct 19 (4 hours in person) Tuesday, Oct 22 (4 hours in person) Closing ceremony is the week of Nov 11 (2-4 hours in person) A budget revision and three month-extension request has been submitted to Mayowa. We are adding contractors, meeting expenses and a learning platform that applies to the project. Two additional personnel were added as well. Lastly, it was found that we were under invoicing for personnel given that the entire budget was based on 44 months, but we started late, and the numbers should have been based on 36 months.
