Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:
During this reporting period, TREND CDC made substantial progress on two of our CWB goals: 1) Identifying and acquiring a commercial property in Chicago and 2) Structuring an opportunity for inclusive ownership. The Chicago TREND Corporation, TREND CDC’s primary consultant and partner, is under contract for a community shopping center in Roseland. Throughout the grant period, the TREND team evaluated the shopping center acquisition opportunity, determined that the asset aligned with its acquisition strategy, and negotiated an offer with the Seller. The next steps include reviewing the contract, signing the purchase agreement, conducting due diligence, and removing contingencies. TREND CDC has begun to engage our inclusive ownership platform partner, Small Change, who we plan to work with to structure an offering for community investors.
