In December, TREND CDC completed the case study funded by this grant: The Making of the Deal: Chicago TREND’s Acquisition of Roseland Medical Center. The Roseland Medical Center case study represents a cornerstone of TREND CDC's commitment to advancing inclusive ownership and community-driven investment models. This comprehensive document captures the key steps for creating a Community Investment Vehicles (CIV) and effectively engaging community investors, drawing on TREND CDC’s innovative approach and on-the-ground experience in the Roseland neighborhood. More than a deliverable, this case study serves as a blueprint for equitable development, offering actionable insights and a replicable framework for other communities. TREND CDC plans to leverage this case study to share our CIV model across Chicago and beyond, inspiring similar efforts to democratize commercial real estate ownership, build local wealth, and revitalize neighborhoods nationwide. The case study content is finalized, and we are working with a designer now. It will be made available to the public (on TREND CDC’s website and on LinkedIn) in the coming weeks.
