We continue to be holding incubator sessions with over a dozen participants. We have also been meeting with others in the Chicago co-op community to build capacity. Arielle Hersh visited Chicago to present an incubator class in person.
What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?
Lack of share loans continues to be problem that folks have identified. They are also concerned about lack of monitoring and stewardship capacity
What opportunities, if any, did you take advantage of in the last reporting period?
We participated in the Chicago Co-op Taskforce. We met with The Resurrection Project and others to discuss setting up a share loan program. We also met separately with IHDA also to discuss share loan lending. Finally, we met with a developer of color who is interested in learning about developing affordable housing co-ops.
