TA Providers: General Questions

CWB Goals

Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:

- We met twice in early December (Tuesday, 12/5, 12/12) with Visionarias food co-op. We celebrated the triumphs of 2023 and talked about the new coming year. We will be drafting new goals come January. - We also provided some TA with marketing strategies for the holiday season. My colleague Karina helped them with the design of a couple of fliers for their website. The Visionarias took off the last two weeks in December to spend with family, rest and recharge for next year. MADEN cleaning Co-op - We met twice ( 12/8/23, 12/11/23 ) to go over the business plan and talk about adding a new member. We still need to schedule a meeting in January (when everyone is back from vacation) with The Enterprise of Solidarity and Economy to adopt bylaws. -The last two weeks of the year I spent cleaning and organizing the office/conference room in our new building where our trainings and workshops will happen. -We have set a date to work on the new semester of co-op workshops. Wednesday 12/10/24 (9:00am). -I invited the new candidates waiting to take co-op workshops to our posada on December I had some time to chat and get to know them better while we sipped on champurrado and ate some delicious tamales. - Karina and I have been comparing/shopping for new office equipment to have the new Southeast Side Co-op Incubator ready for 2024.

What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?

It was a slow month due to illness of some of the co-op members and others were on vacation during the holiday season.

What opportunities, if any, did you take advantage of in the last reporting period?

I took advantage of the fact that it was a slow month and some members were sick and others were out on vacation to clean and organize the new Southeast co-op incubator office/conference room and make it ready for new office furniture and equipment. We participated in the Winter Mixer at Malcom X College- Workshops organized by CFPAC - Food Business development workshops. December 12, 2023. Other great opportunity that the Visionarias took advantage of: The GFPI Community Fund - This fund specifically targets systematically marginalized farmers and food businesses located in Illinois, or within a 250-mile radius of Chicago, with a desire to sell to community food access sites while striving to meet GFPP standards (i.e. local purchasing, sustainable practices, fair labor, animal welfare, and nutrition). They applied in late September and got notification in mid December that they were awarded the GFPI Fund!
