In December, UGC released applications and for 2024 Grower Apprenticeship, which will close January 6, 2024. Information Sessions were held on Sat Dec 16, 2023 10am – 11am (CST); Thu Dec 14, 2023 12pm – 1pm, and Thu Dec 14, 2023 6pm – 7pm to share application timelines, provide an overview of the program, and answer questions from potential applicants. Demographic info for all apprentices (new and returning) will be collected when program restarts in February 2024. Additionally, plans for workshop curriculum schedules for 2024 season are being developed to align with other UGC Farm Operation plans to ensure space for apprentices to have opportunities to apply knowledge gained in hands-on work in the field. Current timeline: January 6- Applications for 2024 cohort close February-- Confirmation of cohort rosters, apprentices' first program meetings begin (program orientation) Late February/March-- first instructional workshops begin
