The Resurrection Project has launched its educational initiatives via a virtual workshop. We are committed to two virtual presentations a month to promote and build interest in cooperative housing buy-in and working with our clients to be buyer ready by meeting with one of our financial advisors for a one-to-one consultation. The Resurrection Project is wrapping up the development of our share loan product that will be readily available once launched. What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?
Finalizing the loan product has been delayed and folks are showing eagerness for the loan to launch.
What opportunities, if any, did you take advantage of in the last reporting period?
TRP has been in collaboration with Robin Semer, one of The Little Village Cooperative members. We have collaborated and have set up an in-person educational session scheduled for the second week of August. TRP has also met with representatives of PIHCO to create a dialogue and plan for a plot of land that can be potentially developed in the east side of the Pilsen Neighborhood. Ray Arroyo and Kristen Komara participated in the CCWB Half-Day Retreat that what held at UIC Law School. We also participated in the Center for Shared Ownership cooperative training session focused on Cooperative financing. We are also working diligently with Mayowa Fanu to provide data and clientele indicators. We have compiled the requested information and will be communicated to Mayowa and our report for the month. Kristen Komara has been meeting with Linda Lutton from PIHCO, Docia Buffington, project manager for PIHCO, and David Feinberg from CCLF to consult and aid in finalizing the share loan product and SEIP grant.

The Resurrection Project continues to engage folks by strengthening our relationships and supporting their efforts in any way we can. Ray Arroyo was able to connect to Gabriel Villa, a board member for PIHCO and Aracely Lucio, a PIHCO resident to provide insight and open a space to join the conversation.

We were able to work with David Feinberg from CCLF, Mayowa Fanu and Nneka Onwuzurike from the City of Chicago as we adjusted our grant expenses and forecasted fund usage for the rest of the year. We also worked with PIHCO leaders to plan for a future development in the east side of Pilsen. In conjunction with The Little Village Housing Cooperative, we have coordinated community engagement via workshop presentations and info session in Little Village.

Little Village Cooperative: Ongoing collaboration and engagement focused on community education. This is the co-op that we have been closely working with and continue to provide educational opportunities and collaborations. The Little Village Co-op also collaborated in refining our education material and consulted with Robin Semer to streamline the content of our workshops. PIHCO We are working with the Pilsen Housing Cooperative to further develop the lending product and planning with our organization leader to co-develop a plot of land on the east side of the neighborhood. We have also held interviews and check ins with some of the residents.
