CWB Goals

Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:

LCDC began canvassing the neighborhood of North Lawndale, placing strategic informational tables, and conducting one on one's with residents. We also began to canvass commercial corridor businesses as well.

What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?

The n/a

What opportunities, if any, did you take advantage of in the last reporting period?

We hired 8 interns to conduct canvassing activities and have been able to cover a larger area of the community and people. These interns are composed of high school and college students that are from North Lawndale or live in North Lawndale. The interns are potential community leaders who are engaging residents, leaders, and organizations to participate in the cooperative economy.

Banking products made specifically for worker cooperatives.

 

What are the greatest gaps in service or resources in Chicago's CWB ecosystem?

Access to various accounting services. It was much appreciated the options that were presented through CWEB. LCDC is still in search of the proper accounting relationships that can dedicate time to educate members on what they should expect and need from a accountant based on their starting point.
