Please provide a brief update on your progress toward your proposed CWB goals in the last reporting period:
In the past three months, we have made significant progress on both our incubation and TA work. - Jumpstart Housing Cooperative has closed on its property acquisition in Bronzeville, creating three new homeowners! - ChiFresh Kitchen had it's highest revenue and profitability ever this quarter, and is poised to no longer rely on subsidies starting in 2024. This included the successful execution of major summer contracts with the YMCA and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. - We have narrowed down the potential industry for our new cooperative development project (which, like ChiFresh, will be owned by formerly incarcerated Black women). We will start member recruitment in October and November. - We hosted our first member training session with Earthseed - We continued to have monthly training meetings with UGC's compost cooperative project
What constraints or limitations, if any, did you experience in the last reporting period?
We have been going strong this past quarter. We are all very busy, so we may need to consider another hire especially to manage the administrative needs of our growing family of organizations (ChiFresh Kitchen, Upside Down Consulting, Jumpstart Housing Co-op, and the new co-op we're developing).
What opportunities, if any, did you take advantage of in the last reporting period?
We loved attending the UIC Hub's launch even for the ecosystem! It was great to see both familiar faces and new folks working toward a cooperative economy.

We began working with UHAB on our housing cooperative development work on Jumpstart. They are supporting us to put together the project plan, offering incubation services to us, as well as training for the members.
